Getting Connected
How PlanWatts Syncs
PlanWatts uses Intervals.icu as its sync hub. Rather than building fragile direct integrations with every device manufacturer, we rely on Intervals.icu's battle-tested API — the same API that's been reliably connecting training platforms for years. This means you get rock-solid sync with every platform Intervals supports, and we can focus on building a better coach.
Creating an Intervals.icu Account
Intervals.icu is free. If you don't have an account yet, you can create one at intervals.icu.
Transparency note: That's a referral link. PlanWatts is a solo project and using it helps us maintain and improve the platform. You can also go directly to intervals.icu — no pressure either way.
Connecting Intervals.icu to PlanWatts
Two options:
- OAuth (recommended) — Settings > Integrations > Connect with Intervals.icu
- API key (fallback) — if OAuth doesn't work, use your API key + athlete ID

Why Not Direct Device Integrations?
Intervals.icu already maintains reliable connections with 20+ providers. Their API handles the complexity of each manufacturer's format, firmware changes, and authentication quirks. By syncing through Intervals, PlanWatts gets broad device support without the maintenance burden of 20 separate integrations — and you get a setup that just works.
